All dreamers welcome...
Thanks for dropping in! I'm an aspiring
singer/songwriter attempting to live out
all of my dreams. So yeah, maybe I'll

woth it. This page is currently under
construction so check out some of the

Oh yeah, remember to drink plenty

Songs From a Box: Weekly Lyrics
April and the Last Angel of Philadelphia
copyright 1997 John Malloy

April opened my eyes and caught me in the rain
As I wandered down these drowning streets
With an old pride and a brand new shame
The sidewalk sales and the newspaper stands
Are doing their best to stay dry
As I overlook their passing faces and ignore the headlines

I'll be leaving soon...

I wish that I was fearless
It would be so easy to get away
And kick out the glass from this window
And rundown this rusted old firescape
But April changed my eyes and hit me with rain
I forget all the names of these streets
I'm all clouded up inside

I've got to be leaving soon

Another angel found his wings today
wrapped in the blooming, taken out of the blue
With the new moon of April
And I hope he doesn't find his way here

in discussing music and the art of the song with anyone.
